About the project
The Adelaide Desalination Plant at Lonsdale, south of Adelaide, will ensure drinking water is available year-round, even in times of drought. The plant can deliver up to 100 billion litres of water each year (100GL) - about half of Adelaide's annual water supply.
Lis-con constructed the 40m deep outlet shaft that was 10m in diameter. It was constructed on a fixed price contract.
Lis-Con also completed reinforcement fixing on various project structures on a tonnage rate contract.
Skilled personnel such as carpenters, steel fixers, concretors and labourers were supplied on an hourly-hire contract to construct various structures. These structures included retaining walls, holding tanks and plinths and slabs.
